New sales strategy for GGP in Italy

10.09.2010.

GGP (Global Garden Products), the leading international group for lawn mowing and garden care machines, announces that from September 2010 it will directly serve the Italian market starting with the Traditional trade.

The new strategy, coordinated and consistent with the Group international plans, aims at bringing a better and faster service to customers, who will now benefit from the proximity and direct access to the Group and its huge competences.
By taking the shortest way to the manufacturer, customers will see their needs fulfilled in the quickest possible way, whilst GGP group will be able to always collect fresh inputs from the market and to consistently adapt to its changing demands.

To lead the change, it was appointed a manger with a most impressive career in GGP: Renato Lorenzon, 46 years old, from Treviso, spent the last 12 years in contributing to the international and domestic growth of the Group, bringing a +10% results in Italy in this last fiscal year – where many other companies suffered from important drops. He is supported by an excellent team of proven experts of the Italian market, both for the traditional and modern trade channels, plus a back office structure dedicated to the team.

Thanks to this new organization, Stiga and Castelgarden – both brands already well-known in Italy and synonymous for reliability and innovation in the gardening machinery sector – aims at further strengthening their domestic market position as well as relaunching the brand Alpina which enjoys a 50 years heritage of market expertise in Italy. The new structure will operate in a new entity -GGP Divisione Italia- a 100% sales subsidiary of GGP group fully dedicated to the Italian market. The subsidiary will take over the responsibility from Gardenitalia, after decades of excellent collaboration - which will still continue in the next months. The agreement is already fully operative for the traditional trade and will embrace – after a transition period – also the mass market /DIY at the end of this calendar year.
